1x42" and 1.5x48" belt sander plans (2 plans 1 package) I have included the plans for my 1x42" strip sander and 1.5x48" strip sander in one package so don't have to decide which version to build ahead of time. Both are very similar in construction, but one is direct drive, the other belt driven. Personally I mostly use the strip sander XL, but the narrower belts on the 1x42" sander can get into places that the XL sander can't. You can see a preview of the plans so you can get a better sense of what's inside before buying. The plans are in metric units, except for drill and shaft sizes, which are in imperial units. You can generate plans in imperial units simply by changing the units to "imperial" in SketchUp under "model info", but the units will not work out to even numbers like they do in metric.
