My dad came up with this fold down bench for a dining table in the living room of
the old house. The bench could be folded down, and, with the wheels on one
side of the table, the table could then be pushed up against the wall to
free up some room.
After my dad tore down the old house and built a new one in its place, where the table and bench ended up didn't really require folding it out of the way. In fact, it hits the baseboard when folding down, so it doesn't fold quite out of the way. If the bench didn't hit the baseboard, the table could be pushed all the way up against the wall.
