6" x 48" belt sander plans
This homemade belt sander can be
used as a horizontal belt sander, or be tipped on its side
onto a base to use as an edge belt sander.
I have produced a detailed set of drawings for this machine.
You can see a preview of the plans so you can get a
better sense of what's inside before buying.
Included with the plans:
- Detailed drawings of every part of the sander
- 18 assembly drawings
- Full-scale printable templates of all parts.
- Detailed building instructions for the sander, with over 150 photos
- More photos of the finished sander
- Also a SketchUp model of the belt sander, which allows you to view the sander from any angle, disassemble
it, or regenerate each of the views in the plans by clicking on the 'scene' tabs in SketchUp.

The plans are in metric units, except for drill and shaft sizes, which are in imperial units.
You can generate plans in imperial units simply by changing the units to "imperial" in SketchUp under
"model info", but the units will not work out to even numbers like they do in metric.
